A client relationship often begins with an inquiry from an author requesting a review of a pending agreement. The agreement might be an offer to publish a book. It might be a production services agreement or a production services agreement in the guise of a publishing agreement. It might be a literary agency agreement. Some of these agreements appear to be fair, comprehensive and customary, but in many instances, they are awkwardly drafted, show ignorance of or indifference to the law or are downright incomprehensible and disadvantageous to the author.
Our mission is to ensure that the agreements that clients sign are clear, fair, comprehensive, comprehensible, beneficial, in conformance with current law and enforceable.
